Finally got the toilet to work without having to lift the lid and manually push things to flush - ha!  It's the little things that are so important.  
     I am painting again - finished painting our bedroom and will tackle the interior doors today with stain and polyurethane.  There is a Sherwin Williams store here and the father and son owners already know us by name.   
     Our truck is interesting - a time travel machine.  It is the middle of the line version of a Nissan Frontier truck.  Manual roll-up windows and locks, no clock, no radio, and no mirrors on the sun visors!  I would hate to see the lower end model!
     Every time I get homesick for conveniences - I just look outside the window at the gorgeous skies and hillsides and it's all worth it.
