1 head red cabbage, shredded
1 cup brown or white sugar
1 cup vinegar
3 bay leaves
15 Juniper berries
5 whole cloves
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup water
2 green apples, peeled and chopped
- Combine all in a large skillet or pot and cook slowly until the cabbage is tender.
- If it's too sour from the vinegar - adjust by adding more sugar.
